We are dedicated to advancing knowledge and improving lives through ethical research.
The Research Council sits at the heart of the Institute for Mental Health Policy & Practice’s commitment to evidence-informed, ethical and socially responsible work. It provides strategic oversight of the Institute’s research activity, ensuring that what we produce is rigorous, relevant and grounded in the realities of people’s lives.
Our role is not simply to review proposals, but to help shape a research culture that is inclusive, proportionate and connected to practice. We support work that challenges inequality, interrogates systems and translates insight into meaningful change across mental health policy and practice.
We work closely with researchers, advisors and partners, and alongside an independent Ethics Committee, to ensure that IMHPP research is conducted with integrity, transparency and care.
Together, we aim to build a body of work that is trusted, accessible and capable of improving mental health systems for the communities they serve.
